HESI A2 Admissions Assessment Exam

The HESI A2 Admissions Assessment Exam is a computer-based test used by the IRSC School of Nursing to assess the academic ability of prospective nursing students. The HESI A2 exam consists of six multiple choice sections (Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary and General Knowledge, Basic Math, Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and a Learning Style Assessment). The exam is three hours long.

All applicants will take the HESI A2 exam in person, at the Assessment Center on Massey Campus in Fort Pierce or at the Assessment Center on Pruitt Campus in Port St. Lucie. The campus contact information is below:

HESI Exam Registration Details for the Fall ADN 2025 Program Track One Applicants

The following items need to be completed before scheduling an appointment to take your HESI A2 exam: 

  • Apply for the 天美传媒 (IRSC) Fall 2025 ADN track one program.
  • Pay the $60 IRSC application fee and the test proctoring fee.
  • Register and pay the $55 fee for the HESI exam.

Test Dates 鈥� Important Information
HESI A2 Exam appointments are limited and must be scheduled in advance. Please note that while future availability may open up, this is not guaranteed. We recommend booking your exam as soon as possible. Once the schedule is full, we are unable to accommodate additional appointments due to limited resources. To avoid disappointment: start studying early and take the exam well ahead of the application deadline.

Not attending a scheduled testing appointment or making multiple appointments during the same application period will invalidate future appointments.

How to Register to take the HESI A2

Step 1: Create an Evolve Account and register for HESI Student Access:

  • Visit 
  • Choose: I am a student.
  • Under the box that says HESI Secured Exams, click on the link Register for Distance Testing
  • Click on the blue Register button. This will take you to My Cart.
  • Click the blue Proceed to Checkout/Redeembutton at the bottom of the page.
  • Now, you will either create an account or sign into an existing one. Sign in with your username and password, or create one by filling in the fields. Note: Your username will be auto-generated and a combination of your first initial, last name, and a number or series of numbers.
  • Click on Submit

Step 2: Register and pay for your HESI Exam.

  • Click My Evolveon the top right page of the screen
  • Click on Student Access
  • Read the Terms and Conditions and click on Agree
  • Click the Payments tab (on the top left side of the screen)
  • Enter the Payment ID: 28948 and continue with the billing process until payment is processed.

Step 3: Schedule your testing appointment.


ONLY MAKE ONE TESTING APPOINTMENT. All other appointments will be canceled.

To SCHEDULE your HESI A2 exam at Pruitt Campus in Port Saint Lucie:  

(Note: The majority of testing appointments will be available at the Pruitt Campus.)

  • To SCHEDULE your HESI A2 exam at Massey Campus in Fort Pierce:  

YOU MUST bring the following to your HESI A2 exam appointment: 

  • Valid Photo ID
  • Your username and password for your Evolve account
  • Proof of payment for both the $55 HESI fee and $60 天美传媒 Application and Proctoring fee. 

HESI A2 Frequently Asked Questions

Students have three hours to complete the exam.

    • Current Driver鈥檚 License with Photo
    • Current Federal, State, County or Municipality issued ID with photo (includes U.S. Military ID)
    • Current Alien Registration Card (Green Card) with photo
    • Current Passport with recent photo
    • Passport Card
    • Current High School ID
    • Current 天美传媒 ID Card

If an ID has an expiration date, it is no longer valid after that date. Also, once an ID is broken into more than one piece or has been cut, it is no longer valid.  An ID printed on paper, photo paper or cardboard cannot be accepted for testing.

Examinees are permitted one attempt per registration period (i.e. one attempt in the fall and one attempt in the summer). Testing attempts not in accordance with this policy will not be used for admission to the Practical Nursing or Registered Nursing programs at 天美传媒. No refund will be provided for multiple test attempts during the same registration period.

No, you are only permitted to take the HESI A2 Exam once per application period. 

HESI A2 scores are valid for one year prior to the deadline date and may be taken only once every application period.

(Note: Only IRSC HESI A2 exam scores are accepted by the School of Nursing. They will not accept HESI A2 scores from other schools.)

Any student wishing to be considered for the Practical Nursing or Registered Nursing programs at 天美传媒.

Absolutely! Any student who is suspected of any form of academic dishonesty or is acting suspiciously during the HESI A2 exam will be immediately disqualified, lose their exam fee, and forfeit their opportunity to re-apply for any other IRSC Nursing Program. Students are not permitted to have any notes or resources during the exam. They are not allowed to open any other tab(s) on their computer while testing. Cell phones, smart watches or any other electronic device is strictly prohibited. 

The total cost for the HESI A2 is $55. This fee is paid online directly to Elsevier. Please note that there is also a $60 Nursing Program Application and Test Proctoring Fee that must be paid to IRSC prior to testing.  Please bring printed copies of both receipts to the Assessment Center during your HESI testing appointment. 

Students must take the HESI exam in person at 天美传媒. 
 

Yes, the HESI A2 exam has a built-in calculator that will be displayed on your screen. This calculator is the only one you are permitted to use during your HESI A2 exam. All other calculators are prohibited.

Yes, the HESI A2 includes 5 experimental questions in each section, but those questions are not scored.

A score report will be available 48 hours online in your Elsevier account. If you wish to check after exam completion, follow the instructions below.

To find your HESI exam scoring information:

  1. Sign in to your , then click 'HESI Assessment 鈥� Student Access'.
  2. Under the 'My Exams' tab locate your exam.
  3. Click 'View Results'.
  4. Click 'Results Report'.

All HESI A2 score reports will be automatically sent to the 天美传媒 School of Nursing.
